Our Approach

Hancocks is a friendly firm with a deserved reputation for giving its clients solid and accurate advice. We put our clients first and we always look for solutions that work best for them.

As a firm, we have considerable residential and commercial property expertise; collectively, Michael Barlow, Toni Peppard, Siobhan Sibley, Laura Lewis and Andrew Hardcastle have over 100 years’ experience. Michael, Toni, Siobhan, Laura and George Brooks also do wills and probate (Toni does elderly client and mental capacity work too), and Ian Davies and Laura Parker do family law and comprise the “family” practice at Cotswold Family Law (a trading name of Hancocks).

We are a member of the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme. Toni is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly. She and Siobhan are both members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Ian and Laura Parker are members of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association). Ian is also a member of the Law Society Family Law Scheme.

Ian’s and Laura’s “matrimonial” practice includes divorce and financial settlements, children issues, pre-nuptial agreements, civil partnerships, and co-habitation disputes and agreements

Wills and probate includes trusts and Inheritance Tax planning, and Toni’s elderly client practice includes Lasting Powers of Attorney and “Living Wills” (Advance Decisions and Statements), Deputyships and Court of Protection/Office of the Public Guardian work.

Conveyancing includes, not only residential sales and purchases, but also re-mortgages, equity release schemes, lease extensions and declarations of trust.

Andrew, Siobhan and Laura Lewis carry out commercial property work that also includes agricultural, licensed premises, banking and non-contentious insolvency, Laura L also does conveyancing, and Siobhan carries out civil litigation work too.

We feel that that the biggest compliment our clients can give us is their recommendation. That’s why we are delighted that a large proportion of our business comes from repeat instructions and client referrals. We are proud of our client retention rates; contact Hancocks and you’ll discover that we are not in the business of putting our clients anywhere but first. From our friendly office team to the straightforward advice, we think you’ll appreciate our personal approach.
