Local Firm Advises in Corporate Client Sale
Long-established “Banburyshire” law firm, Hancocks incorporating Brooks Law (Hancocks), has acted for existing client Maidenhead Industrial Estates Limited (MIE) in connection with the sale of its commercial investment/development portfolio in Maidenhead, having previously acted for MIE in connection with the acquisition of a freehold property at Martin Road in Maidenhead, and certain contentious and non-contentious landlord and tenant matters at Martin and Clivemont Roads, to facilitate MIE’s then redevelopment of the site, and also the grant of a number of new leases of premises at Clivemont Road.
Most of the site had been in the MIE “family” for over 60 years. Day to day, director of MIE and partner at Hale & Company LLP, accountants in Maidenhead, Chris Krol instructed Hancocks. Hale & Company, shortly to become Craufurd Hale LLP as part of a re-branding as the Craufurd Hale Group, provide financial and tax advice, annual and management accounts, outsourced bookkeeping and payroll bureau services and a range of investment advice services and non-contentious probate, and, through an associate, Craufurd Hale Audit Services Ltd, audit.
Hancocks commercial property partner Andrew Hardcastle had conduct of the sale.
Andrew said of the instructions:
“I am delighted to have been instructed by MIE in connection with this significant commercial property matter. I say “significant” because the buyer’s solicitors put a team of half a dozen property, construction, planning and tax lawyers on it over two years. However, despite difficulties and delays, Chris was a pleasure to work with, as always, throughout what was, in many ways and often, a complicated and demanding transaction.”
Chris commented:
“Andrew’s professionalism and responsiveness was evident throughout the recent sale process, as it has been in all the property matters he has handled for MIE. The MIE board much appreciated his handling of the whole matter and his good-natured attitude to the demands placed on him by the purchaser’s solicitors. I would heartily recommend Andrew and Hancocks to anyone.”
