michael barlow 50 years on roll certificate

Golden Year for Michael!

March 5, 2020/in Frontpage News, News /by Kate Barlow

We are delighted to announce that 2020 marks Michael Barlow’s 50th year on roll with the Law Society as a practising solicitor. He’s even got a certificate to prove it!

This might sound like a long time in the “same” job but the law evolves constantly and solicitors need to undertake regular training to remain on roll. In fact, Michael is “on trend” as the average age of practising solicitors is increasing, according to the Law Society’s Annual Statistics Report 2017. What’s more, 31.4% of male solicitors over the age of 71 remain active which gives clients access to wealth of experience, combined with up to date knowledge. (In case you are wondering, the average age of women in the law profession is 5 years younger than male colleagues and just 24% of qualified females over the age of 71 hold practising certificates).

The team at Hancocks and Cotswold Family Law really does span the ages from Matthew who qualified in September 2019 and Michael who qualified in January 1970. Regardless of which team member you talk to, we aim to provide the same high professional standards and to put our clients first.

N.B. If you’re wondering why the certificate refers to Peter, you now know what the P in PM Barlow stands for!
