Long-established Banbury law firm, Hancocks Solicitors, has opened a branch office at Commerce House, Telford Road, Bicester OX26 4LD, taking its offices to three. The Bicester office is headed by conveyancing and private client solicitor Laura Lewis, who joined Hancocks as an associate on 28 January 2019 and is assisted there by legal secretary Charlotte Skehan.
Managing partner Andrew Hardcastle said of the expansion:
“We were looking for a residential conveyancer and a private client lawyer, and we were fortunate enough to find Laura, an experienced residential conveyancing, commercial property and private client specialist, all rolled into one. Laura had built a highly successful practice in Bicester in a very short space of time and, during our discussions with her, it became apparent that this was a great opportunity to open a third office in a growing town. We are delighted to have Laura on board and the new office is a real bonus. Charlotte has been with us for 18 months or so but she lives in Bicester and it suits her too.”
The other branch office is at The Barns, Springfield Farm, Brailes OX15 5JH, where Andrew (commercial and agricultural property), associate Laura Parker (family law), legal executive George Brooks (private client) and office manager Zoe Nairn are based. Hancocks acquired the Brailes office with its acquisition of Cotswold Family Law in 2015 and expanded it with the acquisition of Brooks Law in 2017.
Senior partner Michael Barlow (private client), partners Ian Davies (family law), Toni Peppard (conveyancing and elderly client) and Siobhan Sibley (commercial property, private client and civil litigation), solicitor Eddie Reeves (conveyancing and private client), and trainee solicitor Matt Bass are based at the head office at 46 The Green, South Bar Street, Banbury OX16 9AB, day to day, but they are more than happy to make appointments at Bicester or Brailes, if more convenient.
Located in Banbury since 1959, Hancocks (formerly, the Banbury office of Shipston-on-Stour firm, F B Hancock & Co, which was founded in the 19th Century) is a five partner/10 fee earner private client and commercial practice specialising in conveyancing, wills and probate, elderly client, family law, civil litigation, and commercial property for individuals and SME to PLC clients in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and beyond, including London and overseas.
